Increase in leave for cancer patients among govt employees
Acknowledging the need for special care in the case of cancer patients, the government has decided to extend the leave of cancer patients among government employees based on medical certificate. Currently government employees are sanctioned leave for 45 days.
Teachers Award
The Cabinet has decided to do away with the practice of giving teachers’ award meant for a year in the subsequent year. This year the awards will be given in the current year itself. Being the case, the awards for 2012 will also be given away with the ones for 2013. It has also been decided to increase the award amount from Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000.
